The Lakes College Chinese Garden

13 Nov 2019

It’s a long way from the school yards of yesteryear and the students of The Lakes College, North Lakes have just inherited a state of the art outdoor area where East meets West in an exciting, innovative garden. Jeremy Ferrier Landscape Architects, created the design, which has a strong Chinese influence and it has been bought to life by Glascott.

The works carried out by Glascott included planting, soft fall and irrigation with the majority being hardscape. This included the installation of block seating walls, concrete pavements, sandstone blocks and boulder swale, along with timber boardwalks and bright red timber pergolas. The arched Chinese bridge, sandstone steppers and Chinese garden statues give the garden an authentic, exotic appeal.

The school is very happy with their new garden. It provides the students with a tranquil learning area, movement corridors and pathways, with an eating area and a unique play space in a beautiful environment.
