Googong gets a new playground

Construction is well underway on the new playground and surrounds at the Googong display village. Situated in the heart of the Googong Township, the new stage of the development was design by AECOM and will feature imported play equipment that compliments the distinctive landscape.

Over the past 5 years, Glascott has delivered multiple stages of the initial Googong neighbourhood including the award-winning Googong Oval. The current package being delivered includes stages 1, 2 and 5 at the new neigbourhood with works on the streetscapes, open spaces, the new playground and display village surrounds.

ACT Manager, Mr Matthew Elliott says he is please with how the work is progressing,

‘We are making great progress on the Googong display village and new playground. The playground is very unique with equipment sourced overseas and contractors from all parts of Australia pitching in to deliver. We hope to complete final touches on the playground by mid November.”

Glascott are very proud of their continued partnership with PEET, developing their flagship project and one of the ACT largest masterplanned residential communities.

The playground and other package works are due to be complete by January 2017.
