Landscaping the iconic Riverside Centre

13 Nov 2019

Glascott Landscape & Civil are working with Badge Construction to revitalise the Riverside Centre Plaza in Brisbane’s CBD.

Situated on the waterfront, Riverside Centre comprises a commercial building that was designed by Harry Seidler – one of Australia’s most prominent architects.

The current upgrade to the main plaza were designed by 360° landscape architects and include integrated planting and seating, installation of contemporary lighting and signage that will enhance the outdoor environment.

Glascott are carrying out soft landscaping that includes planting of large Pandanus palms, Waterhousia’s and Livistonia Palms. Hardworks include cleaning and reinstalling pavers, installing new timber seating, irrigation, handrails and insitu concrete works.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic, along with noise, are logistical challenges when working in a busy location.

“Our team is very experienced in coordinating with other trades so we can lessen the impact on the public and deliver the project safely and to schedule”, said Mr Gareth Eagle, Queensland Manager of Glascott Landscape and Civil.

The business has a long history of delivering high profile works such as the delicate upgrade to ANZAC Square, Brisbane for the centenary last year. Further south, Glascott has delivered Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour and are currently constructing one of Sydney’s largest public green roofs.

Riverside Centre is due to be complete mid November 2016.
