Double Delivery: Auburn Park and Bardo Park

13 Nov 2019

Not contented with delivering just one project, Glascott Landscape & Civil recently handed over two new Auburn parks to Cumberland Council.

The first and largest project to get underway was Auburn Park. Upgrades to this park included a total revamp of the park grounds whilst retaining the existing cricket
pitch and playground.

Our team demolished the parkland area before commencing bulk earthworks where we retained the existing site fill. Then we delivered on the vision of Complete Urban Landscape Architects, constructing meandering decorated pathways complete with solar powered lighting, installing a large circular shaped water feature to create a centrepiece and building the modern amenities building, providing sports teams and visitors with impressive new facilities.

Adding to the existing recreational elements, we also installed the half size basketball court, new cricket training area and fitness stations. New barbeques with picnic shelters, plus additional parkland furniture complete the park. And to top it off, the existing carpark adjacent to the park was reconfigured accommodating greater access.

Meanwhile, our team were also busy over at the other park upgrade. Bardo Park is located just a few blocks from Auburn Park and is a smaller neighbourhood park with playground. Glascott demolished the existing park and playground to make way for the new playground which comprised of new play equipment, a fun children’s bicycle track with car racing symbols, and timber picnic shelters with seating and lighting.

A large synthetic lawn area was installed to provide a safe area for running around and playing sport. Feature walls and pathways provide decorative elements, and solar powered lighting was installed throughout the park creating atmosphere and safety at night.
