The Googong Story: growing stronger every day

13 Nov 2019

As the Googong Township continues to expand so too does the Glascott footprint. With something like over one million square metres of landscaping delivered, our team continues to work with PEET Communities to develop the master plan community in Queanbeyan.

Community assets delivered by Glascott include parks, playgrounds, the township oval with amenities, numerous streetscapes, bio-retention ponds, community gardens and more. Recently completing Neighbourhood 1B Stage 8 works, they have just started Neighbourhood 1A Stage 7, comprising dryland grass and tree planting on streetscapes and open spaces. The open space component also entails riparian zone planting, construction of garden beds and concrete paths, plus boardwalk with a bridge, lighting and bollards. Another package underway is Stage 6, with more streetscape works.

Googong is like a second home to the Glascott team. Over the past 5 years, they have a developed deep and thorough understanding on the vision and have forged a strong relationship with PEET. This was evident when they joined the Development Team at their recent team-building day, and helped to plant over 80 trees at Hill 800 – a community outlook constructed earlier in the year.

We feel very much part of the community at Googong,” said Glascott’s ACT Manager, Matthew Elliott. “Working closely with PEET, landscape architect AECOM, and other consultants over the years years, we are dedicated to upholding the vision for Googong and creating an outstanding residential community.”
