New Project: Honeysuckle Park, Newcastle
26 Oct 2020
We are thrilled to support a remarkable milestone in the Honeysuckle Waterfront development – the construction of Honeysuckle Park.
The urban renewal of Honeysuckle is a signature project for Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC). Honeysuckle Park marks a significant step in the delivery of a new public domain and the continued revitalisation of the Honeysuckle waterfront in Newcastle.
Glascott Landscape and Civil will work closely with HCCDC to deliver this significant public space that will provide a pristine waterfront park along the edge of Newcastle harbourside.
The revitalisation of the waterfront will include new street furniture and fixtures, such as sheltered picnic areas and covered barbeque facilities, to provide the community with a space to enjoy the scenery with the opportunity of family events or gatherings. Extensive planting, paving, demolition, and an unstructured play space will see our team draw on the breadth of our capabilities and expertise.
The maritime themed play area surrounded with native trees provides the centrepiece and ensures children and families alike will enjoy the waterfront space. Carefully placed sandstone block steps along the harbour foreshore will complete the modern and elegant public space.
The project marks an important milestone for Glascott Landscape and Civil with an expansion into the Newcastle/Hunter region, and a new local office opening early 2021, sharing with Marsupial Landscape Management.
Works commence in late October with the expected completion in June 2021. Glascott will work closely with stakeholders to deliver this key project safely and efficiently to specification and program.
