Gipps Street Recreation Precinct – Progress Update September 2023

Gipps Street Recreation Precinct is moving forward at an impressive pace, with an average of 75 dedicated workers on-site daily and teams working in cohesion across multiple fronts to make the vision a reality at the expansive 32-hectare site. ?

The latest milestones include the amenities pavilion foundations, bringing us one step closer to providing the community with top-notch facilities to enjoy. 

Here are the highlights from July and August:

  • The amenities pavilion concrete substructure poured is complete, providing a solid concrete foundation for the new building.
  • The inclusive playground, complete with an exciting waterplay feature, is currently under construction.
  • Progress on the construction of impressive skate bowls is well underway.
  • Advancements continue with sportsfield lighting and electrical reticulation.
  • The stormwater infrastructure and new services are on the verge of completion.
  • We’re nearing the finish of the remedial works.
  • The southern sportsfield now enjoys full irrigation.
  • The newly completed pump track promises a thrilling ride for enthusiasts of all ages.
  • The northeast wetland basin stands as a proud environmental asset within this project.
  • And all earthworks are now successfully completed.

These advancements represent the substantial evolution of Gipps Street Recreation Precinct and our team’s unwavering dedication to effective project management and co-ordination of the many moving parts that make up the project. 

Key subcontractors on site during this period include the builder, skate park builder, drainage experts, electrical specialists, irrigation specialists, and remediation experts, working seamlessly with the Glascott team to bring this vision to life.
