McIlwaine Park Foreshore is now open

McIlwaine Park Foreshore is now open, and we are delighted to showcase the amazing final result.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government and brought to life by the City of Canada Bay, this transformation offers easier access to Parramatta River for water fun and introduces new green spaces, recreation amenities, and environmental benefits.

Our Sydney project team, led by Callum Kelly, worked closely with City of Canada Bay and subcontractor partners to meticulously bring each feature to life. From the foreshore areas with accessible pathways, pedestrian lighting, picnic & BBQ facilities, and lush native landscaping surrounds, including 22 new trees, to the stunning sandstone supporting the new seawall and natural rockpools, and the beautiful new beach with launch facilities for water activities.

Designed by Environmental Partnership, the park contributes to improving the health of the bay by providing a protective habitat at the water’s edge. The transformation of 107m of the original 1970s seawall into a natural informal character, rockpools, salt marsh and living seawall tiles, integrates into the intertidal zone to encourage a diversity of marine life to help strengthen the river’s ecosystem.

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with City of Canada Bay and the project stakeholders to deliver this unique community asset that not only provides aesthetic value but contributes to lifestyle while supporting the blue and green environment.

The collective efforts of everyone involved have resulted in a remarkable park and an important legacy for the Canada Bay community and all Sydneysiders.
