14/02/2024

As 2023 drew to a close, we saw unhindered activity at Gipps Street Recreation Precinct with a flurry of on-site activity and favourable weather conditions, propelling this project into its final construction phase.

Significant milestones were reached, marking progress in the Amenities Pavilion and External Construction Works, with the project continuing at a dynamic pace.

The activities performed on-site during November / December 2023 include:

  • Surface works to the youth precinct, surrounding the skate bowls.
  • Ongoing works to the new Amenities Pavilion and Waterplay Storage Building.
  • Finished landscaping to the Inclusive Playground.
  • Construction of both northern and southern sports courts.
  • The Ring Road and associated parking bays construction.
  • Construction of external landscaping surrounds site wide.
  • Construction & connection of the innovative satellite amenities pods.
  • Fitness precinct construction.
  • Installation of solar lighting.
  • Remedial works, ensuring excellence throughout.

The following milestones were achieved:

  • Completion of both natural sporting fields, with the grow-in phases underway.
  • Structural Steel & Roofing System completed on the Amenities Pavilion.
  • Cricket Nets are ready for action.
  • The site-wide remedial works are now successfully wrapped up.

We acknowledge the tenacity of our site team and subcontractor partners. Since commencing the project in July 2022, they have consistently delivered each aspect to exceptional quality, meeting the expected specifications and timeline.

We look forward to sharing more updates as we work towards the completion of this important asset for the Penrith community.
