Alfred & Lucina Best Park Receives Upgrade for Brisbane City Council

02/05/2024

Alfred & Lucina Best Park in The Gap was transformed late last year, thanks to the collaboration between Brisbane City Council and Glascott Landscape & Civil.

The project aimed to enhance the playground and recreational area, providing a functional and interactive space for the local community to enjoy.

With a focus on quality and attention to detail, the upgrade was executed with precision and care. Some of the highlights include the installation of a pump track, catering to the needs of cyclists and skaters, the multi-game sports courts and various play equipment, with the park transforming into a vibrant recreational hub.

Throughout the construction process, Glascott worked closely with the Brisbane City Council project team to minimise disruption and ensure the preservation of the natural environment. With the guidance of Level 5 Arborists, measures were taken to protect the tree root system, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Glascott took responsibility for determining the site levels in the construction of the pump track, delivering 95% of the entire project scope to exacting standards. Collaboration with Council was paramount to the success of the project, ensuring the final result met the expectations of all stakeholders.

The completed park now stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of the teams involved, providing a beautiful and high-quality play space for the local community.
