We are thrilled to share that Glascott Landscape and Civil has been selected to deliver Ken Birdsey Park for Blacktown City Council.

Located at Reserve 882, the project aims to transform the 20-hectare open space in Schofield into multifunctional open space and recreational facilities that meet community needs, promote active and passive recreation, and provide flood and stormwater management infrastructure.

The new park will feature:

  • Four sports fields for soccer and cricket and cricket nets
  • Community amenities building, including toilets and a kiosk
  • Children’s playground with a range of equipment
  • Public car park with accessible spots
  • Pathways for exercise
  • Endangered woodland
  • Stormwater treatment (bioretention and wetland) and stormwater harvesting pond (for irrigation)
  • First Ponds Creek

With RPS Group as the project manager, Glascott will work closely with them to ensure the safe and efficient delivery. The environmental component is a critical aspect of the project, particularly the realignment of the active creek. Glascott’s in-house ecologist, Dr. James Macnamara, will be on-site to oversee the management of native fauna and flora, ensuring that risks to the local ecology are effectively mitigated.

Glascott Landscape and Civil is committed to working closely with the Council’s team and RPS Group to ensure every aspect is delivered to the highest standard. We look forward to providing a vibrant park for the community to enjoy for generations to come.
