Memorial Garden for Hunter Valley Bus Crash Victims
18/07/2024
Our Hunter division was honoured to join Cessnock City Council in helping to create a beautiful memorial garden to honour the victims of the tragic bus crash on 11 June 2023.
Located less than 1km from the crash site along the Branxton to Greta Memorial Shared Pathway, the memorial garden aims to provide a tranquil setting for remembrance.
Funded by Cessnock City Council and the NSW Government, the garden features 10 deciduous Pyrus Calleryana trees, each representing a life lost, with individual memorial plaques displaying wording provided by the families. Planted mounds, native grasses, groundcovers, and woodland trees screen the garden, creating a quiet space for reflection.
The Glascott Landscape and Civil team ensured the turf, plants, and sandstone elements were delivered with care and to the highest quality. The memorial was completed for the one-year anniversary of the crash on 11 June 2024.
