Alroy Oval Sports Precinct
15/12/2024
Glascott Landscape and Civil are delivering the much-anticipated, Alroy Oval Sports Precinct for Singleton Council.
With a key focus on promoting participation in organised sports, particularly for women and girls, the project is set to transform recreational sports for the Singleton Strikers Football Club and the wider community.
Designed by GroupGSA, the new sports facility will provide easy access to a purpose-built, gender-neutral amenities building, equipped with shower cubicles, mirrors over hand basins, and power points for personal care appliances. Enhancements to the car park, footpaths, and lighting will further improve personal safety for all users of the facility.
Works are well underway at Alroy Oval, with demolition and bulk earthworks completed. Services are now going into the ground with sewer, water, irrigation and electrical in progress. The Glascott team turns their attention to importing topsoil to the sportsfields, with the amenities building slab works also progressing well.
The project scope includes:
- Constructing a new female-friendly and fully accessible amenities building
- Upgrading the car park
- Installing new footpaths
- Upgraded the lighting
- Renovating the existing football fields, including installing a third full-sized field, with irrigation across all three
The project has been partially funded by the Australian Government, Investing In Our Communities grant, and the NSW Government Level the Playing Field grant, with Council loan funding.
Construction began in September 2024, with the project expected complete by September 2025.
