Revitalising Box Road Reserve: A New Chapter for Community Sport in Sylvania

09/01/2025

Glascott Landscape and Civil is proud to announce the completion of the Box Road Reserve upgrade for Sutherland Shire Council, delivered in time for the holiday season.

This much-loved facility in Sylvania has been revitalised to provide a modern, accessible, and sustainable space for the local community to enjoy. The transformation included:

  • Upgrading the playing fields: Two former 2-tiered fields were regraded into one continuous field, complete with a new cricket pitch and Tahoma 31 turf across 12,600m².
  • Enhanced infrastructure: Improved drainage and irrigation systems were installed, along with a 65,000-litre water tank to support sustainable field maintenance.
  • Smart sports lighting: Modern floodlighting ensures safe and enjoyable use of the fields for evening activities.
  • Accessibility upgrades: New concrete pathways, pedestrian ramps, stairs, and chain wire perimeter fencing with a glass balustrade have enhanced accessibility for all.
  • Community-first approach: Core-filled block retaining walls up to 2.6m high were built, and critical services like NBN and fire main lines were relocated to allow the infrastructure improvements.

These upgrades are a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality projects that align with client and community needs. Special thanks to our project team, whose dedication and expertise ensured the successful delivery of this project.

We’re thrilled to see Box Road Reserve ready to host cricket matches, sports training, and recreational activities for years to come.
