Inner North Play Space Progress Update – April 2025

The Inner North Play Space in Watson is rapidly taking shape, with major milestones achieved and the finishing touches now underway. Here’s where we stand:

Completed Works:

✅ Play Equipment Installation: Swings, climbing structures, and inclusive play elements are fully installed, offering dynamic play opportunities for all ages and abilities.
✅ Skate Park Features: The skate park’s key elements, including metal-edged ramps and rails, are complete and ready for action.
✅ Fitness Equipment: Strength and circuit training stations are in place, encouraging active lifestyles for the community.
✅ Electrical Works: Power infrastructure, lighting, and three-phase power connections are operational.
✅ Accessible Toilet Block: The inclusive restroom and baby change facilities are now finished, ensuring comfort for all visitors.

Works in Progress:

🎨 Sports Court Painting: Vibrant colours inspired by the Glossy Black-Cockatoo’s habitat are being applied to the multi-use courts, transforming them into a visual centerpiece.
🛠️ Surface Finishing: Rubber softfall surfacing is underway in play zones for safety, while concrete paths are being finalized to enhance accessibility across the site.

What’s Next:

Final landscaping, shade structure installations, and community art integrations will complete this landmark project, set to open mid-2025.
