Regatta Park’s Role in Connecting the Community with the Nepean River
07/05/2025

The Nepean River in Penrith is a place of deep cultural significance for the Darug and Dharawal peoples, who have lived in the region for millennia. Today, it is also the site of a bold transformation — one that brings community, culture, and Country together.
Glascott Landscape and Civil is proud to have delivered Regatta Park on behalf of Penrith City Council, as part of the Our River Masterplan. This transformative project was designed to:
- Reconnect the community with the Nepean River
- Create more recreation opportunities
- Celebrate the area’s cultural heritage
- Enhance environmental outcomes
The Glascott project team worked closely with Council, architects, and key stakeholders to deliver this vibrant and inclusive space.
From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by a stunning pavilion with amenities, a kiosk featuring a commercial-grade kitchen, and a covered play area.
Stroll along the accessible River Path network or take the new stairs down to the riverside, where open green space stretches out before meeting a showstopping feature — the dramatic cantilevered viewing platform that floats over the Nepean River.
On the other side of the pavilion, cross the newly built road and car park to find an adventure playground, junior cricket oval, and shaded picnic zones — all surrounded by hundreds of newly planted trees, delivered by our team.
Regatta Park is already being embraced by locals and visitors. We’re proud to have helped Penrith City Council create this lasting legacy.
It’s well worth a visit, and we can’t wait to see it grow into a lush, green destination that celebrates nature and community along the river.
