12/06/2025

Glascott Landscape and Civil is proud to acknowledge two standout projects delivered by our Hunter division, both recognised at the 2025 Local Government NSW Excellence Awards.

These projects reflect The Glascott Way our commitment to excellence across everything we do, delivering on our promise through a collaboration-first approach, both internally and with clients and stakeholders.

Winner: Kurri Kurri Town Centre Upgrade

Category: Projects over $1.5 million – Population 50,000–150,000

Cessnock City Council received top honours for the Kurri Kurri Town Centre Upgrade, a project designed to revitalise the township while celebrating its local character and heritage.

Delivered by Glascott’s Hunter team, the scope included new paving, landscaping, seating, lighting, and streetscape upgrades to improve amenity and accessibility.

The project was completed with minimal disruption to businesses and the community, underpinned by strong collaboration between Council, our project team, and local stakeholders.

Highly Commended: Fernleigh Awabakal Shared Track (FAST)

Category: Projects over $1.5 million – Population over 150,000

Lake Macquarie City Council’s FAST project received a Highly Commended award for its contribution to sustainable transport and community connection. The new 3.5km shared path links the Fernleigh Track with Blacksmiths, improving safety, accessibility, and regional connectivity.

Constructed by Glascott, the final stage of the project was delivered with careful attention to the local environment and cultural heritage. The result is a functional and inviting public asset that supports healthy, active lifestyles and long-term community benefit.
