Victorian flagship project now complete
Rosebud Foreshore Playspace represents a milestone for Glascott in Victoria – our first major public space and local government project – and we couldn’t be more proud of the result.
Mornington Peninsula Shire engaged Glascott Landscape & Civil to build their flagship playspace in time for Christmas and the busy holiday season. Designed by HASSELL Studio, the playspace is situated on the Rosebud foreshore on Port Phillip Bay.
Glascott undertook major earthworks and detailed mound construction, installing a number of various surfaces, including rock work, timber, exposed concrete and a large amount of rubber to cap the mound. All of this was topped off with a fantastic variety of play equipment and sheltered areas to make this an all year round destination play space.
Victorian Manager, Stewart Owen, said his team worked at a cracking pace to deliver the project on time for the Christmas holidays.
“We all worked hard to manage the program and ensure the playspace was ready for Christmas despite some obstacles.”
The team worked through winter battling the elements of a windy and wet environment but kept the project to program.
Mr Owen continued, “We enjoyed working with Mornington Peninsular Shire and HASSELL Studio on this fantastic project. It’s really rewarding to see the community and all the children enjoying it.”
Destination Rosebud is supported by the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund. These works are being implemented in accordance with the approved ‘Jetty Road Foreshore Recreation Node Master Plan (September 2015).
