Working with Lloyd Group to deliver Emmaus College upgrade
Late last year Glascott completed works at Emmaus College in Vermont South for Lloyd Group. Our second project for this major builder saw our team overcome some site challenges to deliver a high standard of works and in time for school term.
The project involved extensive landscaping around the new $6.2m building. The scope of works included: bulk earthworks (2565m2); asphalt (665m2); concrete (320m2); rock works, involving the placement of 36 large boulders, which are a striking feature of the entrance to Emmaus College. In addition, 500 plants were installed along with mulch.
The connection of the new, concreted area to the damaged existing car park was a challenge. Another area of concern emerged when a “soft spot” in the driveway was discovered. This had the potential to undermine the structural soundness of the asphalt and cause delays. Our team worked closely with Lloyd Group and subcontracts to resolve the issue and deliver the works in a timely manner.
A unique feature of the project is the curving of the concrete stairway, which required skilled “form’ work. It was well worth the effort as the stairway is part of the attractive new entrance to Emmaus College.
