Glascott ACT to deliver significant new Open Space in Casey

We are delighted to announce that Glascott Landscape and Civil has been awarded the contract to bring to life the Casey Community Recreation Park. This exciting project for the ACT Government aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space where the community can play, relax, and connect with nature.

In collaboration with architect Redbox Design and feedback from local residents, the new park will offer a range of play and activity options, catering to the diverse needs and interests of visitors of all ages and abilities, where everyone will feel welcome and included.

The design incorporates community priorities, such as accessible toilet facilities, shade structures, BBQ and picnic areas, and play equipment that encourages interaction with the natural environment.

A multi-purpose court, flying fox, amphitheatre, and open play spaces will provide endless opportunities for recreation and enjoyment. Preserving the existing natural space was a key consideration, and the design ensures the protection and integration of the surrounding trees and plants.

In a full-circle story, Glascott played a part in the early projects at Casey, when it emerged as one of Canberra’s newest suburbs. Our team is thrilled to have the opportunity to return and contribute to the community once again.

Once completed, Casey Community Recreation Park will offer a wide range of well-designed spaces for rest and play, promoting health, well-being, and community engagement while complementing the existing playgrounds and off-leash dog park.
