A New Icon for Parramatta: Dixon Park Escarpment Lookout
19/03/2025

Dixon Park Escarpment Lookout is the City of Parramatta’s latest landmark project, aiming to connect the community to the area’s natural beauty. Glascott Landscape and Civil delivered this spectacular viewpoint, which provides panoramic views of the Parramatta River.
Perched above the river, the lookout blends nature with elegant and modern architecture. There is a cantilevered platform, accessible walks, and seating places surrounded by native flora. It’s a location designed for everyone, whether you’re taking dawn shots, relaxing, or exploring the river’s transformation.
Glascott’s Expertise Shines
Glascott Landscape and Civil brought decades of experience in landmark projects to this development. Known for iconic projects like Cockatoo Island, The Coal Loader and North Head Lookout—they worked closely with the council’s team to ensure the project respected the escarpment’s original form while improving safety, accessibility, and aesthetics.
More Than a View
This project is part of the City of Parramatta’s broader vision to transform the river into a vibrant hub. Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter highlights the lookout as a “testament to collaborative innovation,” merging functionality with artistic design. Community feedback shaped features like shaded areas and interpretive signage, creating an inclusive space for education and relaxation.
The Dixon Park Escarpment Lookout is a place where nature and the city skyline meet. Check out the video for a sneak preview—then come see what’s been built for you.
