Description:

Glascott Landscape and Civil delivered the upgrade to the Kurri Kurri Town Centre, meeting the needs of the community while preserving its unique character. The project scope included:

  • New Pathways, Kerbs, and Open Spaces: Creating safer, more accessible pedestrian areas and shared spaces.
  • Street Landscaping and Furniture: Installation of modern seating, bins, and other street furniture to enhance comfort and usability.
  • Upgraded Lighting and Safety Features: Integrating new poles to street lighting systems to improve nighttime visibility and public safety.
  • Landscaped Green Spaces and Tree Planting: Introducing greenery and shaded areas to promote a natural, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Roadways Upgrade: Complete upgrade of the existing including Linemarking and Signage
  • Stormwater Management: Upgrade the Stormwater to roadways, ensuring safety and future climate-proofing.
  • Traffic and Parking Adjustments: Implementing adjustments to streamline traffic flow and ensure a safer, pedestrian-friendly environment.

Challenges and Solutions

Glascott Landscape & Civil managed the project within a busy town centre, working closely with Cessnock City Council and local stakeholders.

The project team addressed challenges, such as managing traffic and pedestrians, which was critical during the demolition of the existing hardstand paths and kerbs, and minimising disruptions to the local businesses.
