Description:

Proudly funded by the NSW Government, this transformation provides visitors with easier access to Parramatta River for water fun and introduces new green spaces, recreation amenities, and environmental benefits.

Glascott Landscape and Civil worked closely with City of Canada Bay and Environmental Partnership to bring this project to life. The park contributes to improving the health of the bay by providing a protective habitat at the water’s edge. The transformation of 107m of the 1970s seawall into a natural informal character, rockpools, salt marsh and living seawall tiles, integrates into the intertidal zone to encourage a diversity of marine life to help strengthen the river’s ecosystem.

Key project features:

  • Upgrades to the foreshore areas of the park to provide a new accessible pathway along the foreshore
  • Installation of pedestrian lighting
  • New environmentally friendly seawall incorporating natural rockpools for biodiversity, including installation of living Seawall tiles designed to naturally increase fish habitat within the area
  • Construction of a beach area
  • A launch facility for water activities such as kayaking, rowing and stand-up paddle boarding
  • New accessible BBQ and picnic facilities
  • Native landscaping including the planting of 22 new trees.
